Mayor's Back 2 School & Health Fair
The City of Houston's annual back-to-school fair at the George R. Brown Convention Center, held every early August since 2011: 20,000 free backpacks with school supplies plus on-site dental, vision, and health screenings for Houston-area elementary students. Registration required; families ride METRO free to the event.
