Privacy
FamHop privacy policy
This page explains what information FamHop (famhop.com) collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. Effective July 29, 2026.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Friday digest signup: your email address, plus the metro and any preferences (such as an age range) you choose, and the page you signed up from. Used only to send the digest.
- Optional sign-in: if you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google, and we store the spots, events and plans you save so they sync across your devices. Sign-in is never required to browse.
Information collected automatically
- Analytics: we use Google Analytics, which sets cookies and collects usage data (pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP, device type) under Google's privacy policy.
- Our own counters: the app sends us small, cookieless usage signals (a feature name and a metro, e.g. "digest prompt shown · bay-area"). They contain no name, email or precise location.
- Server logs: our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes IP addresses and request data to deliver pages and prevent abuse.
Location (optional)
If you tap "sort by nearest" and allow the browser prompt, your rounded coordinates are used on your device to sort listings and are sent to our weather endpoint to show a local forecast. They are saved on your device, not to an account profile, and we do not build location histories.
On-device storage
Preferences such as map position, language, dismissed prompts, visit counts and saved items are kept in your browser's local storage. Clearing site data in your browser removes them.
Third-party services
Pages load services from Cloudflare (hosting/CDN), Google (Analytics; Fonts; Identity Services if you use sign-in) and OpenStreetMap tile servers (the map). Each receives the network requests needed to work — typically your IP address and the resource requested — under its own privacy policy. FamHop shows no ads and sells no tickets.
How we use information
To run the service, send the digest you asked for, sync your saved items, understand which features help, and keep the service secure. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Sharing
Personal information goes only to the service providers named above, acting on our behalf, or where the law requires disclosure. There are no other recipients.
Children
FamHop is written for parents and caregivers planning outings. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The optional age-range preference on the digest signup describes the outings you want to see, not a child's identity. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, email [email protected] and we will delete it.
Retention
Digest emails are kept until you unsubscribe. Account data is kept until you ask us to delete it. Usage counters are aggregated and contain no personal identifiers.
Your choices
- Every digest includes an unsubscribe link that works immediately.
- Block or clear cookies in your browser, or use Google's Analytics opt-out.
- Revoke the location permission in your browser at any time.
- Email [email protected] to access or delete your account data or digest subscription.
Where we operate
FamHop is operated from the United States and intended for users in the United States.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date.
